To be a successful cryptocurrency investor, you have to know yourself.

Only you know how much capital you have to invest.

Only you know your risk tolerance.

And you know better than anyone what you’re trying to achieve through investing.

Everyone’s situation is different, so what works for person A isn’t going to work for person B.

Having said that, if this is Day 1 for you in the crypto space and you feel like you have no idea what to do, I’m going to give you a starting point with the first cryptocurrencies to buy.

I have six for you right here…

The Starter Crypto Portfolio

In case it went to fast in the video, here is the list:

  • Bitcoin (BTC)
  • Ethereum (ETH)
  • Cardano (ADA)
  • Polkadot (DOT)
  • Cosmos (ATOM)
  • Fetch (FET)

You can buy all of these coins on Coinbase Global Inc., and this link is a step-by-step guide on how to open a Coinbase account so you can start buying cryptocurrencies today.

I’ll be back again tomorrow for Alternative Wealth Daily LIVE at 11:30 a.m. E.T., so make sure you join me right here.

  1. HELP ME OUT. IF I BUY COSMOS AT $35.80 (11/9/21) AM I BUYING JUST 1 COSMOS CRYPTO
AND IF I JUST LET IT RIDE, AND IT GOES TO $50 IS THAT ALL MINE? WHAT IF I BOUGHT IT FOR
$71.80 DO I OWN 2 COSMOS CRYPTO? AND IT GOES TO $100, IS THAT FOR ONE COSMOS OR DO
I DOUBLE THAT? THERE IS A CRYPTO-DASH. TODAY FOR $234.92. IF I PUT $100 TOWARDS IT
TODAY AND COME UP WITH THE BALANCE FOR 1 DASH ON 11/20 SO THAT AS OF 11/20 I HAVE
THE PRICE OF ONE DASH CRYPYO AND I LET IT RIDE DO I THEREFORE HAVE WHATEVER IT
CLIMES TOO? THANK YOU. PS. I FAIL TO SEE THE VALUE OF CARDANO. AM I WRONG?

    • Hi Martin,

If Cosmos (ATOM) is trading for $35.80 and you pay $35.80, you will essentially be buying 1 whole coin. You could think of in terms of buying a stock if that helps – if a share is trading for $35 and you pay the $35 asking price, you own one share. If you bought two shares of a stock at $35, you would pay $70 ($35X2).

If you own fractions of a cryptocurrency, if the overall price moves up, the fractions you own will also move up in value, just not the same value as it would if you owned one whole coin.

  2. Nick,

This is great, only one I didn’t own on the list was ATOM and I’ve correct that omission lol. I am a novice crypto investor so its always nice to learn new things. Thank you for your newsletter.

  3. Does anyone here know how to connect the Etherscan site to Metamask..Metamask wants me to find the connect function(button)on Etherscan but it’s hiding too well for me.I can’t transfer my AGIX off of Etherscan to Metamask until they can talk to each other..I’ve already wasted 400 AGIX in transfer fees for 4 separate transactions…Afraid to send the bulk from Kucoin to Metamask now as it ends up in the Etherscan black hole…Any help is appreciated…Thanks Nick and team for helping all of us get a leg up in life…It’ll go towards the purchase of a gold mine I’ve had my eye on for 20 years……

    • This is the kind of stuff that Wall Street sucks so bad about, of course not in the same way! But we all know nothing goes away online (I still don’t understand why we would all help pay to save all the stupid cat videos)! The fees are fees but it’s plain that whoever doesn’t know what he intended to do!

  4. Nick, Thanks for this. If one of these coins skyrockets and I want to cash out, will I be able to and what would the fees and taxes be?

  5. My crypto portfolio (small that it is) is way out of balance, which I kinda knew, I just didn’t realize how much. Good information in the crypto world hasn’t been easy to find and I’m thankful I stumbled my way to finding Nick Black. To have a plan, and direction in which “currrency units” to invest in, and “why”, makes all of this more purposeful. I don’t know enough about this yet, but I’m a lot further down road than I was 2 months ago. Thank you Nick

  6. Thank you for the insights!!!
Added Polkadot. Increase my holdings of Fetch and ATOM. Love having the wisdom of someone who is focus on Crypto currencies. Ready for the ride!

  7. My question is does the 4 or so year cycle continue? Do you think we will have the big run up and more importantly the crash? And 4 3 or 4 years of accumulation period once we establish a new bottom? Or does the institional money break the cycle? How scary is it that the big boys can trade futures short and long?

  8. Hi Nick,

How do you buy AGIX ? I only have accounts on Coinbase & Robinhood. Coinbase Pro & Binance are too dense for my inexperience so I don’t do much there.

  9. Should I be staking on stakingrewards.com? I am fairly new to crypto but want to get the biggest bang for my buck. I am trying to sort out the good from my bad and you are helping greatly. Keep up the good advice. I have sooooo many questions.

  10. Nick,
I’m new to this newsletter and I’m soooo new at this crypto thing BUT after hearing you speak with Danny Brodie from NICI I purchased AGIX. BUT had to go to KuCoin to do it – Coinbase doesn’t carry it and thats where I have all my other coins. My problem is I tried to buy more AGIX but it won’t go through and I can’t find a telephone number or chat or ANYTHING to get information. Do you have any insight as to how to make KuCoin work! I do know I couldn’t buy AGIX directly the first time but it looks like I should be able to add it now?
    Thank you Nick

  11. Is it likely that CoinBase will add AGIX at some stage?
What determines whether they will add a Crypto or not?

  12. Hi Nick.
Can i open a coinbase account if I am not a US Citizen? Is it also possible to trade in crypto if one is outside the US?

  13. Is thee any cannabis crypto? I have stock shares in some of the major cannabis players, and they’ve been declining all last year. Should I cut my losses and out what I have left in crypto?

  14. How do I get started in crypto, I am in the process of setting up an account on Coinbase. Since I don’t have a lot to start off with what would you suggest doing with a few hundred? I am on disability and trying to get out of this situation that I have never been before. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you,LAVERNE
